CrewRadr ("the App," "we," "us") is a safety-focused location-sharing and emergency-preparedness platform for trusted groups (crews) — families, field teams, and close-knit communities. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your data.
This policy applies to all CrewRadr platforms:
By using CrewRadr, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.
GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, speed, altitude, bearing, accuracy) collected while background or foreground location sharing is enabled. Shared only with crew members you explicitly choose to connect with.
Email address (for authentication, account recovery, and deletion verification), ECDH P-256 public key (for end-to-end encryption), display name, and optional passkey credential.
Operating system version, device model, battery level and charging state, network connectivity status (Wi-Fi / cellular / offline), and FCM push notification token.
Which crews you belong to, your role within each crew (Captain, Co-Captain, Member), and which users you share location with. Crew membership data is visible to other crew members.
Accelerometer and gyroscope readings (only when Crash Detection or Journey Automation is enabled), device activity recognition (walking, driving, cycling, stationary) for journey tracking and check-in triggers.
Crash logs and stack traces (via Firebase Crashlytics), error reports, performance metrics, install ID for diagnostic correlation, and feature usage telemetry (anonymized where possible).
Battery percentage and charging status, shared with your crew members for safety awareness. The app automatically alerts your crew when your battery falls below 5%.
Geofenced locations you register as trusted destinations (e.g., home, office, school). Stored server-side; used to suppress alerts upon arrival and trigger Smart Home automations.
Structured safety incident logs you create in-app, including optional photos and descriptions. Visibility is scoped to your crew.
Audio recordings attached to location check-ins or incident reports. Requires microphone permission. Stored encrypted server-side.
Aggregated safety engagement metrics (check-in consistency, Ghost Watch usage). Visible to crew members per your crew's leaderboard visibility settings.
Configuration controlled by your Crew Captain: location sharing lock, sign-out lock, leave-crew lock, encryption key rotation state, crew name, and member role assignments.
Membership tier (Deckhand / First Mate / Captain / Admiral), subscription status, billing interval, and transaction history. Payment processing is handled by RevenueCat and Stripe — CrewRadr does not store full credit card numbers.
Encrypted backup of your crew encryption keys, protected by your Security PIN. Stored server-side; decryptable only with your PIN. You may also export a local password-protected backup file.
Browser-based access logs, session tokens, and dashboard preferences when accessing the CrewRadr Web Portal. Fleet management data for Admiral-tier enterprise crews.
BLE advertising and scanning for Smart Home Matter protocol handshake. No persistent Bluetooth data is stored.

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or data-broker purposes. Your data belongs to you.
When you provide your mobile phone number, you may voluntarily opt in to receive transactional, safety alert, and emergency notification text messages (SMS) from CrewRadr (including crash detection notifications, emergency check-in alerts, and account security verification codes).
Carrier Non-Sharing Clause:
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Voluntary Consent & Service Independence:
Opting in to receive text messages is completely voluntary. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition or requirement of purchase, registration, or receiving services from CrewRadr. You may use all core location-sharing and navigation features of the app without providing SMS consent.
Opt-Out & Support:
You can opt out of receiving SMS text messages at any time by replying STOP to any text message sent from our toll-free number (+1 855-710-7793), or by modifying your notification preferences in the app settings. Message and data rates may apply.

Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. When you delete your account, all server-side data — location history, crew memberships, bonds, messages, safety scores, schedules, reminders, check-in data, PIN recovery vault, crew key backups, and all other personal information — is permanently removed. Device-local data (keys, settings, vault material, caches) is also wiped.
Data export: Any registered user may export their own personal account data and location history at any time, free of charge, from the app Settings menu (GDPR Art. 20 compliant). Captain-tier users can also export crew-level data. You may export your crew encryption keys at any time via Settings → Backups for offline safekeeping.

CrewRadr SOS, Crash Detection, and Ghost Watch features are supplementary peer-to-peer notification tools and do not guarantee emergency responder dispatch. Users must dial local emergency services (e.g., 911, 112) directly during life-threatening situations. These features may not function in areas without network coverage, on devices with depleted batteries, or when required permissions are not granted. CrewRadr is not a replacement for 911 or official emergency services.
CrewRadr is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact privacy@crewradr.app immediately.
CrewRadr data is stored in Supabase data centers (US and EU regions). Data may be transferred to and processed in countries where our sub-processors operate. All transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
We will notify users of material changes to this policy via in-app notice and/or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
